DEBT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

If you are having difficulty with debt, or are at your credit limit, you may qualify for our Debt Management Program. Through this program, we can negotiate with your creditors to lower payments, stop collection action and reduce or eliminate interest and fees.

What is a Debt Management Program?
The Debt Management Program (DMP) is a personalized program that helps consumers manage and overcome debt by developing a manageable repayment plan with creditors. Our Debt Management Program (DMP) can help you become debt-free and avoid bankruptcy.

How does a Debt Management Program work?
By contacting one of our certified credit counselors, we will review your expenses and debt, develop a budget, establish goals and develop a Debt Management Program designed to fit your personal financial needs.

A Debt Management Program starts with a confidential credit counseling session with one of our NFCC certified credit counselors. During this session, your counselor will review strategies on budgeting and saving. If you chose to participate in the voluntary Debt Management Program, your counselor will contact creditors to negotiate a repayment plan that will offer you the convenience of making one monthly payment to creditors, reducing the interest paid as well as creditor fees. Your credit counselor will be available throughout the repayment process, and will provide ongoing support to help you achieve financial success.

Once you have paid off your debt (generally within 2-5 years), you will have successfully completed the Debt Management Program. After completion, we encourage you to take advantage of our other educational services to continue to help you achieve your financial goals.

The Debt Management Program is available in person, by phone, or online for your convenience. To inquire online, simply click on the link at the bottom of the page. There is a fee associated should you decide to participate in a repayment program. To find out the monthly fee for the Debt Management Program in your state, please contact us at 800.984.0977.
